Dear Friends,
Today we had an opportunity to visit with our "adopted" Regiment 75
at their current location in the Golan Heights. Although we have been at
the base on several occasions, the flora in bloom this time of year in the
Golan can take your breath away, it's almost heavenly! Spread out in
front of you is the magnificent Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) and behind you
rising up above the green fields and meadows is the white snow capped Mt.
Hermon. As I said, breath-taking! The base is home to Regiment 75
also known as Romah and there are at any given time around 350 men and women
on site. When we arrived around noon, the units had just returned from
Mt. Hermon where they have spent the last couple of weeks in routine drills. During
this past military Operation, these men and women were stationed in Gaza and
by the grace of G-d there was only one minor injury during the entire time
there. This is a great time of joy for the Jewish people, during the
month of Adar and especially at this time of the holiday of Purim. We
are instructed to increase our charity and through your generous donations and
support, we were able to bring to 24 needy soldiers some monetary assistance
by providing them with script for groceries. These soldiers are
specifically chosen by the Commander of Social Services. Their family
situations are such that many soldiers don't go home because there is
nothing for them to eat and they don't want to put extra burden on their
families. Additionally we provided them a car load of
"goodies" for them to take on their upcoming and well deserved
vacation after their service in the Gaza strip.
Your appreciation for their dedicated service to the State of Israel, it's
citizens and all Jewish people worldwide is shown through your acts
kindness and charity. We need your help to continue this work
and ask that you send a check (or call the Rabbi with a credit card number) made
out to: The Marina Shul-Israel Fund.*
On their behalf we want to thank you for your continued support in this very
important project and may Hashem bless each and every one of you!
